Wells Media Group’s newest publication for property/casualty insurance industry, Carrier Management, is making its mark in the publishing world, garnering three honors at last week’s 2014 Eddie and Ozzie Awards.
Wells Media Group’s Insurance Journal also scored a win.
The awards are given annually by media company Folio to honor the best editorial and design work in the magazine and publishing industry.
Wells Media Group submitted a total of four entries for consideration and all four were finalists.
Insurance Journal Editor-in-Chief Andrea Wells won in the “Eddie” category Business-to-Business Single Article: Banking/Business/ Finance for the article “E&O Dangers for Agents” in the November 2013 edition of Insurance Journal magazine.
Carrier Management, which targets C-suite executives, nabbed the top prize in the editorial category, Business-to-Business Series of Articles: General Interest, for the series of articles, “Making P/C Operations Work: From Calm Multitaskers to Maniacs with a Passion,” published in the February 2014.
The award-winning Carrier Management article series by Senior Editor Susanne Sclafane profiled executives who held the title chief operating officer or chief operations officer at RLI, QBE, Farmers, Markel Corp. and Endurance Specialty Holdings during the first quarter of 2014, and also provided the views of executive recruiters on what it takes to be a P/C insurance carrier COO.
In addition to winning that “Eddie,” Carrier Management received an honorable mention in the new magazine “Ozzie” design category, Business-to-Business: Design, New Magazine, and honorable mention in a second “Eddie” category, Business-to-Business Full Issue: Banking/ Business/ Finance. Both honors were for the Winter 2014 edition.
The design team for Carrier Management is headed by Guy Boccia, vice president of design at Wells Media.
According to Folio, more than 230 awards were handed to business-to-business, consumer and association publications.
